Soprano Carrie Loring is best known as longtime host of TV Ontario’s Polka Dot Door. She toured coast to coast with numerous children’s shows involving singing, storytelling, mime, guitar and puppetry. Carrie received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Toronto, and singing certificates from the Royal Conservatory of Music. She sings regularly with Tafelmusik, Choir 21, Soundstreams, Opera Atelier, The Tallis Choir, The Elmer Iseler Singers, and as a soprano lead in many Toronto churches. She has sung with the Elora Festival Singers, Toronto Consort, Toronto Mendelssohn Choir, The National Ballet of Canada, and Theatre of Early Music. She has performed as a voice-over artist and studio singer in television and film, and has sung on 26 CD recordings. Enjoying the challenge of singing in different styles, she has performed back-up vocals for Roger Hodgson (Supertramp) and performed in the cast of Sondheim in September. Her voice was heard on the TV series The Tudors and The Borgias, the films Something About Mary Magdalene and Flightpath; and on commercials for Apple and Ikea. Carrie teaches private lessons in voice and guitar. She has been working with the Bach Children’s Chorus since 2014.
