We are committed to bringing every chorister to a high level of musical literacy.

Our integrated program of theory, ear training and sight-singing is individualized to the skills and the needs of each chorister. Age- and skill-appropriate activities are taught to every singer in Choirs I, II and III, with senior chorister mentors an important part of the program.

Music THEORY

Choristers are required to complete an intensive theory and solfege program called A Young Singers’ Journey (YSJ). Our friendly theory co-ordinators and parent volunteer theory markers review and track progress of each chorister on a weekly basis, offering individual tutoring during choir practice as needed.

EAR TRAINING AND SIGHT-SINGING

Our sight-singing co-ordinator and group leaders (comprised of music staff and volunteers) review and track progress of each chorister on a weekly basis, offering individual tutoring during choir practice as needed. 25 minutes of home sight-singing practice is expected for Choir II and Choir III Cantabile singers.

The work you do brings beauty to children’s lives, and enriches them mentally and spiritually. It does not get more important or impactful than that.
