12:00 p.m.12:00

Opera Atelier's Dido & Aeneas

The Bach Children’s Chorus is singing as the soprano-alto chorus in Dido & Aeneas at the Elgin Theatre!

GET TICKETS

Dido and Aeneas is the production that Opera Atelier has produced and toured more

than any other in our history. The production has taken us to major venues in Italy,

France, Germany, Switzerland, Singapore, Japan, South Korea, across North America,

and to the Royal Albert Hall, England, in celebration of the 100th anniversary of the BBC

Proms.

 Opera Atelier’s 2022/23 production of Dido and Aeneas features a cast of Canada’s

finest singers, all making their role debuts, which is a rarity given the profile of our

artists. Soprano Meghan Lindsay and tenor Colin Ainsworth portray the ill-fated lovers,

and soprano Measha Brueggergosman-Lee performs the role of The Sorceress.

 Dido and Aeneas is considered to be the greatest opera written in the English language.

With a run-time of 60 minutes, it is ideal for first-time opera goers or anyone interested

in period-pieces.
